Samyang Corporation showcased its specialty (high-performance) food ingredients and advanced technology at the 'IFIA 2024', a specialized Japanese food exhibition.

Samyang Corporation (CEO Choi Nak-hyun) announced that it operated a promotional booth at the Tokyo Food Ingredients and Additives Exhibition 'IFIA 2024' held in Tokyo, Japan, from May 22 to 24. IFIA is an international food exhibition where over 300 companies from around the world and more than 25,000 visitors gather to present new products and technologies related to food ingredients, food additives, and functional foods.

Samyang Corporation expanded its business activities targeting local distributors and actual demand industries to broaden its market, and has been participating in this exhibition for the fourth consecutive year to explore competitors and market trends. At this year's exhibition, they focused on promoting their alternative sweetener 'allulose' and health functional ingredient 'resistant dextrin'.

Allulose is a zero-calorie alternative sweetener with about 70% sweetness compared to sugar. Samyang Corporation successfully mass-produced liquid allulose using its enzyme technology developed in 2016 and started full-scale production from 2020. Currently, they supply it domestically and internationally through their B2C premium sugar brand 'Trusweet' and B2B brand 'Nexsweet', widely used in various food categories including carbonated beverages, dairy products, and sauces.

Resistant dextrin, a soluble dietary fiber, can help in smooth bowel movements, suppress postprandial blood glucose elevation, and improve neutral lipids in the blood. Since 2021, Samyang Corporation has been producing liquid and powder forms of resistant dextrin under the brand 'Fiberest'.

Samyang Corporation created plant-based jellies in Japan using these ingredients that meet the criteria for 'low calorie' and ‘high fiber’, providing tasting samples and distributing new brochures containing the latest research trends on allulose to enhance visitor understanding.

Lee Sang-hoon, Head of Food Business Unit at Samyang Corporation, said, "Through this exhibition, we were able to grasp local trends and expand the range of potential clients," adding, "We will continue to participate in food exhibitions held domestically and internationally to promote the excellence of Samyang Corporation's specialty ingredients and expand our market."

Meanwhile, Samyang Corporation is accelerating its market expansion by actively participating in food-related exhibitions held both domestically and internationally this year. Following their participation in the Natural Products Expo West 2024 held in Anaheim, USA in March, they plan to promote their specialties at the Seoul International Food Industry Expo in Korea in June and the Ingredients Show 'IFT 2024' in the USA in July.
