Samyang Corporation Participates in IFT 2019, at Largest Scale among Domestic Companies

Samyang Corporation aggressively targets the global functional sugar market with its pioneering enzyme technology.


On June 4, Samyang Corporation announced that it is participating in the IFT 2019, held in New Orleans of the USA from June 3 to 5, at the largest scale among domestic companies.


The IFT is an annual event organized by the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), an international food research institute composed of food experts. It is the world largest food expo in the field of food technology, with the participation of more than 20,000 buyers and researchers from over 1,200 companies and over 90 countries.


At the event, Samyang Corporation introduces global customers to various functional sugar products produced with its own enzyme technology, including indigestible maltodextrin, a kind of fiber, as well as allulose, kestose, and maltooligosaccharide G4.


Allulose, also called the optimal next-generation sweetener, is a sweet component in figs, grapes, and other fruits. It is as sweet as sugar but has a calorie count of almost zero. Samyang Corporation has been selling allulose since 2017, starting as the brand “Trusweet”, and is currently supplying it to beverage, ice cream, and dairy companies in Korea.
